Norway wins 11 gold medals

Norway just won a national record of 11 gold medals in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. The Norwegians had a great performance ranking as the third medal winning country with 11 gold medals, 7 silver and 6 bronze medals.

Ole Einar Bjørndalen won 4 gold medals in all the men's biatlon races and  Kjetil André Aamodt's got two gold medals on the men's Super G competion and on the alpine skiing combination.
 

Finland and Sweden get 7 and 6 medals

It was a discreet performance for Finland and Sweden. Finland went home with seven medals, five fewer than in Nagano. Finland was the strongest nation in the Nordic Combined and Samppa Lajunen her best skier. Sweden could only collect 6 medals, with no golds among them.
